OBITUARY: Nicholas Aaron Hudson, May 15, 2002 ~ July 31, 2020 - reprinted from the Mahn Family Funeral Home website

Nicholas (Nick) Aaron Hudson, 18, of Red Wing, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 as the result of a car accident.

He was born May 15, 2002 in Lake City to Erik and Michelle Hudson. He grew up in Red Wing and was preparing for his senior year, class of 2021, at Red Wing High School. He worked at Treasure Island and previously for Runnings and Marie’s. Nick always enjoyed anything mechanical. Everything from bicycles to small engine machines to his GMC SIERRA that he adored. He bought and rebuilt his truck on his own. It was one of his favorite things to invest his time in. His most recent purchase was an old time push mower that he found so fascinating. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking the state parks. One of his favorite places was the family cabin where he spent time on ATV’s, fishing the lake and boating. He was a loving, kind son with a heart of gold. A big brother and best friend to his sister Ella. She was well on her way to finishing high school early so her and Nick could tackle college together. Nick was just beginning the interview process, with Universal Technical Institute in Chicago, to become a diesel mechanic.

He is survived by his parents; Michelle (Wayne Stenzel)Kammerer Hudson of Zumbrota and Erik (Erin) Hudson of Red Wing; sister, Ella Hudson of Red Wing; step siblings, McKenzie and Jacob Hamlin of Red Wing; grandmothers, Ellie Kammerer of Hackensack, Minn. and Darlene Hudson of Red Wing; best friend, Alek Schulenberg of Red Wing; as well as aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, David Kammerer and Kenneth Hudson.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson Mahn Chapel.

Masks are required and social distancing is encouraged.
