Glen E. Thompson passed away on August 2, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Family will be holding a private funeral service at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Glen E. Thompson was born February of 1932 in Red Willow County, Nebraska; the son of William H. and Cora (Franklin) Thompson.

He served and was honorably discharged from the US Navy. While serving in the Navy he was stationed aboard communications ship U.S.S. Eldorado.

Glen was united in marriage to Emma Smith in May of 1955.

He retired from doing furniture repair for Kenwood House Interiors.

Glen worked hard to provide for his family.

In his free time he loved to fish and hunt.

Glen is survived by his wife Emma; three daughters Julie (Thomas) O’Brien, Orena Young, and Cendie (Wayne) Scheetz; grandchildren Daisy Olson, Jesse (Amy) Young, Tara O’Brien, Matthew O’Brien, and Richard O’Brien; 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by siblings Donald Thompson and Donna Cepiatis and many nieces and nephews.
