Jack Francis, native of Beckham County, went to be with our Lord on June 15 from his home in Bedford, Texas. Jack was born December 16, 1938 in Sayre to Earl and Sybil Francis who were just beginning what turned into 4 term stint as County Sheriff. Jack spent a few years of his early life at the County Jail where his family made residence and care taking for inmates. At the age of 10, Jack moved with his family to the Texas Plains to G. W. Francis' (Jack's grandfather) 6 section wheat farm, which was between Spearman and Gruver. In 1955, Jack moved to Erick with his parents and was a 1957 graduate of EHS.

Jack made his first career at the Beckham County Farm Service Agency and raised some cattle. On February 7, 1959, Jack married Irvalynn Baker in a double wedding ceremony with his brother, Joe Clint Francis and Karen L. Oren (Irvalynn's Cousin) at the First Baptist Church in Erick. In 1964, Jack and his wife moved to the Dallas metroplex where he had a long career with Bell Helicopter where he was a member of Local UAW 318.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Sybil Francis of Erick, grandparents G. W. (George) Francis & Della (Goff) Francis and Ed & Nettie "Tubby" Wilson of Erick, and sister & brother in-law, Kara Neil & Marvin Costner of Guymon.

Jack is survived by his brother & sister in-law, Joe & Karen Francis of Erick, nieces/nephews, Sheri Johnson of Surprise, Az., Debbie Mikles of Turpin, Ok., Anville Francis of Edmond, Dexter Francis of Granbury, Tx., and cousins Joyce Copeland of Cordell and Bob Ed Wilson of Erick.
