Russell Lynn James, 61, of 20316 Timberlake Village Dr. Unit 732, Rocky Mount, Missouri, formerly of Ottumwa, passed away at 6:09 p.m. November 1, 2014, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri, surrounded by his wife, children and loved ones. He was born March 30, 1953, in Ottumwa to Earl Dean and Barbara Jean Follman James. He married Linda Headley on May 19, 1979. A graduate of Ottumwa Heights College, Russ had worked for 27 years at Hy-Vee Food Stores, for eight years at Hy-Capacity, and owned and operated Russ James Distributing for 13 years. Surviving are his wife, Linda; his children, Angela (Brian) Motley of North Liberty, Iowa, and Chad (Laura) James of Harker Heights, Texas; three grandchildren, Allie and Jace Motley and Aubrie James; a brother, Richard L. (Crystal) James of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Cremation will follow the visitation. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jon Disburg officiating with the assistance of Crystal James. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family of Russell James or to the Stewart Cancer Center at Boone Hospital, 1600 E. Broadway, Columbia, Missouri 65201. He will be dearly missed by many!
