Sheila Ann Cross-Brown, age 60, of New Orleans, Louisiana, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. She was born February 17, 1960 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Lula and Romal Cross, Sr. She was the loving wife of Jonathan Brown, daughters Teniel Lenoir, Kimberly Cross, and son Kenneth Cross. She was a grandmother to a host of grandchildren. Sheila was committed to her church and family. She loved the Lord, and people in general. She was baptized at an early age and developed her service to God and others at various churches to include the First Emmanuel Baptist Church of Gretna where she served as an usher. She gained her education in the New Orleans Public schools. No stranger to hard work, Sheila worked in a variety of positions in the medical field, including a long time assignment at the Belle Chasse State School where she served her patients with care and compassion until her retirement. Visitation will be at the Davis Mortuary Services, Inc. in Gretna on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM. Sheila Cross-Brown departed this life to be present with the Lod on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the age 60. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Sheila was a retired nurse of Belle Chasse State School. She was an active member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church of Gretna where she served as an usher. Beloved wife of Jonathan Brown. Devoted mother of Teniel (Cornelius) Lenoir, Kimberly Cross and Kenneth Cross. Loving grandmother of Michael Brown, Marquis Brown, Dominique Cross, Tenesha Williams, Oneisha Williams, Oneal Williams, and Jakeem Landry. Great grandmother of Di'asia, D'onna, and Deyondre Robinson. Daughter of the late Romal Sr. and Lula Cross. Sister of Terrill Cross, Debbie Durant, Susan (Ronnie) Harrison, Denise (Roger) Dickerson, Romal (Goldie) Cross, Lionel (Stephanie) Cross, Stanley (Amanda) Cross, Wanda Cross, and the late Tyrone Cross. Sister-in-law of Doris Dummars; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of First Emmanuel Baptist Church of Gretna and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST. GRETNA, LA on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 11:00a.m. Pastor Dolhman Brown, Sr., officiating Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time at the parlor.
