Rev Caroline "Carrie" Julia Bartlett Crane was the daughter of Lorenzo Dow and Julia Ann (Brown) Bartlett. She was the wife of Dr. Augustus Warren Crane. They were married in 1896. Dr. Crane died in 1937. Caroline was a teacher, Unitarian minister, suffragist, traveler, civic reformer, journalist, newspaper editor and social gospel advocate. She was inducted into The Michigan Women's Historical Center and Hall of Fame in 1984 - Areas of Achievement: Religion and Suffrage. Rev. Crane died from intercranial injuries/received from fall down stairs/accident. Her death certificate was signed by Dr. Ralph G. Cool, coroner.
