Abingdon, Va., May 5 -- Mrs. Lavinia Haynes, formerly of this place, died at her home in Washington, D.C., at the age of 72 years. She was born in Abingdon and made her home here for about forty years. She married Captain Austin D. Haynes, also of this place. Capt. Haynes fought in the battle of Missionary Ridge, in which he lost his right limb. Mrs. Haynes is survived by four brothers, William, Thomas, Milton W., and Richard Henritze. The burial took place at Washington.
