Louis I. Wilson Sr., formerly of Monmouth, IL., currently of Loganville, Georgia, died Dec. 26, 2019, in Athens, GA. He was born March 27, 1942, in Monmouth, to Charles and Vera (Crawford) Wilson.
Louis married Gail Hardin in 1969; he married Carolyn Richardson in 1978.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Evelyn (Curt) Rossiter of Quincy, IL., and Cindy (David) Herron and Marion Garmon, both of Loganville. He is also survived by two sons, Louis Jr. and Dan (Crystal) Wilson of Quincy; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Hank and Karen Cassiday of Monmouth; and several nieces and nephews.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; seven brothers; two sisters; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
Louis worked as a mechanic most of his life and also changed tires on semis and heavy equipment. His children and grandchildren brought him joy. He loved to help his elderly neighbors and watched over them.

A family gathering is scheduled at his home in Loganville. Cremation has been accorded.
