Seth 'Duke' R. Wright Jr.

Seth "Duke" R. Wright Jr., 73, of Glendale, Calif., died Friday, March 3, 1995, in Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Alward-Carter Funeral Home in St. Louis with the Rev. Keith Wise officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Gardens Cemetery in Elwell.

He was born July 5, 1921, in Lawton, Okla., to Seth R. and Audie Wright Sr. He married Eleanor Oswald Nov. 6, 1944, in Chicago, Ill.

A resident of California for the past 37 years, he was a self-employed auto body finisher, retiring in 1982. He was also a former member of the Masonic Blue Lodge No. 33 of Lansing, past post-commander of the Moniah American Legion No. 460 of Lansing. He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was survived by his wife, Eleanor; two sons, John Wright of Fowler and Thomas Wright of VanNuys, Calif., one daughter, Connie (John) Beck of Napa, Calif., his mother, Audie Wright; three sisters, Doris Clarke and Marie (Al) Schaeffer, both of St. Louis, and Francis (Felton) Muscott of Riverdale; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Wright.
