He was reared in the Darby neighborhood, where he was engaged in livestock and farming and spent most of his life in Schuyler County until he retired.
He was married in Kahoka, Mo., on January 20, 1900 to Mary Frances Westoff, who preceded him in death. To this union nine children were born, two boys and seven girls. Five daughters preceded him in death; Mrs. Ed (Rosella) Goeke, Mrs. Ray (Bina) Kueneman, Louise, Leona and Nella Aeschliman. Also four grandchildren, three brothers; Frank, Chris, Ella and three who died in infancy.
He leaves to mourn his passing four children; Mrs. Cecil (Hazel) Moore, Kirksville; Mrs. R.L.(Elizabeth) Francis, Bloomfield, Ia., Joseph Aeschliman, Kirksville, Dale Aeschliman, Oskaloosa, Ia., and also three brothers, Jonas of Bloomfield, Ia., Aaron of Kirksville, and Gene of Lancaster; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon March 25, 1963 at Bloomfield, Ia., with interment in the Darby Cemetery.
