Ernest loved his church, Bailey AME, where he was a faithful member for 53 years, serving as treasurer for over 45 years, an usher, and a member of the choir. He also loved the Seahawks, the Mariners, long Sunday afternoon drives, the Meridianites, his timeshare at Whistler, but most of all he loved his family and let them know it with his consistent and generous gifts.
Ernest leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 60 years Annie (Stevenson) Walker, his three daughters, Sherron (Sean) Boyea, Debra (Murphy) Parrish, and Toya Walker, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one godson, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, Sidney, Cyde Sr., Monroe Jr., Claude, and two sisters, Velma Welch and Elsie Walker.
