God did not promise “Sun without rain” light without darkness or joy without pain. He promised us “Strength for the day”, when the darkness comes and we lose our way. For only though sorrow do we grow more aware, that God is our refuge in times of despair.
On July 2, 2020 Delores Bell slept away peacefully at home. She was born October 9, 1945 to the late Bishop John Henry Wilson and Susana Rodgers- Wilson. She started a family at a early age, where she married her late husband Cromwell “Boo Boo’ Bell, and they had five wonderful sons and one beautiful daughter. At the age of 17 she worked at Portsmouth General Hospital for 20 years and Portsmouth Orthopedics for 5 years. She was employed at the Pines Treatment Center as an “At Risk Counselor” for 18 years and retired. Delores was affectionately known as “Hennie”, “Penny” or “MA” Bell. Those who knew her loved her. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Delores is predeceased by her parents Bishop John Henry Wilson and Susana Rodgers- Wilson. Her husband Cromwell “BooBoo” Bell, son Calvin Eugene Bell and brother Charles Henry Wilson. Cherishing her memories Delores leaves her only daughter Rhonda R. Bell of Portsmouth, Va and four sons Reginald L. Bell of Dorchester South Carolina, Kenneth M. Bell Sr, Melvin L. Bell and Karlton A Bell all of Portsmouth Va.
