Carl Alley

The funeral of Carl Alley, 84, retired New Cambria farmer, will be at 10:30 am Wednesday at the Rush Smith Funeral Home, the Rev. Elmer King officiating.

Mr. Alley suffered a stroke early Thursday at his rural New Cambria home and was taken to St. John’s Hospital where he died at 7 am Sunday.

He was born in the New Cambria area, a member of a pioneer Saline County family. Mr. and Mrs. Alley celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in October.

He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, the Salina Blue Lodge, Consistory and the Isis Thrine [sic].

Surviving are the widow, Ida; a daughter, Mrs. Lola Anderson, 219 S. 11th, a sister, Mrs. Mae Jones, 509 W. Walnut; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery at New Cambria.

Mr. Alley, a member of a pioneer area family, died Sunday following a stroke. He was a life-time resident of the New Cambria community.

He is survived by the widow, a daughter and a sister.
