Dan was the son of William Raymond Gover and Helen Faye (Davis) Gover. He was born in Eldon, Miller County, Missouri at a young age he and his family moved to California. Dan earned his GED while in the US Navy, he graduated from Fresno College obtaining an AA degree in Public Adm. Dan married Donna K Wagner in 1964, he was a Viet Nam Veteran serving on the USS Ranger. Dan enjoyed a short career at Turlock Police Department and was retired due to a work related injury. He went on to work in various other agencies in the Central Valley in California. Dan had many accomplishments in his life; he was a Master Mason of Clovis Masonic Lodge, Dan was an avid horsemen, owning his own roping arena and putting on some big time roping and barrel racing event.He and Donna loved to go to Tahoe to get away. He enjoyed spending time with is family, he often took his boys Shayne and Scott hunting when they were younger. He loved making rice crispies for his grandchildren.

He leaves to mourn his presence; his wife Donna, son Shayne (Teresa) granddaughter Alyssa, grandson Branden, son Scott, grandson Matthew, granddaughters Kristen and Katelyn and their mother Gigi Gover, his brother Jim Gover and various brother and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and friends.
