Obituary
Michael “Mule” Pierce, 56, passed away peacefully in his home surrounding by his loving family on Friday, July 31, 2020. He was born on May 10, 1964, to the late James A. Pierce, Sr. and Lois Marilla Overstreet Pierce.
Michael had a love for hunting, fishing, and traveling with his Uncle Roscoe, and cousins, Mann Hamilton, Jeffery Hamilton and Norman Overstreet, Michael “Pops” Dees, and many, many others. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, family, and friends. He will be remembered for his big heart and beautiful smile.
In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenny and Earlie Pierce, and John Jake and Minnie Overstreet.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Ashley (Allen) Hollman; grandchildren, Hailey Dennis, Ethan Hollman, and Alyssa Joy Hollman; brother, James “Jimmy” (Georgene) Pierce, Jr.; sisters, Althea (Demp) Cauley, Judy Lee Hall, Rita Eubanks, Patricia (Bobby) Eubanks, and Ellen (Spanky) Dees; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
An all-night visitation will be held for Michael on Sunday, August 2, 2020 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until at Magnolia Springs Baptist Church in Vancleave, MS. The funeral service will be held the next day, Monday, August 3, 2020 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Chase Elkins officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery with Mann Jack Hamilton, Jeffery Hamilton, Michael “Spanky” Dees, Charlie Callegan, Jimmy Louis Tapp, and Bobby Fountain serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Preston M. Foster, III, Norman Overstreet, Brody King, Roscoe Overstreet, Little Alan Smith, and Bobby Eubanks.
Due to the concerns surrounding COVID-19, masks are encouraged and the number of people in the building may be limited at any time.
Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated in Moss Point/ Escatawpa, MS, is honored to serve the family of Mr. Michael Pierce.
