Mother of Athens citizens died yesterday;to be buried tomorrow morning.

Yesterday morning at half after eight o'clock Mrs N A Griffeth, one of the most beloved women of this section, passed away at the home of her son, Mr W G Griffeth, at 252 East Dougherty street, after an illness of just two weeks, lacking a few hours.
She would have been eighty-one years old had she lived till mid-spring, Before her marriage she was Miss Elder, a daughter of the late John P Eler, prominent Oconee county citizen ~ and originally from a Virginia famly which was closely related in the years ago with President Washington.
Mrs Griffeth is survived by five sons, Messrs John T Griffeth, Will G Griffeth, and Frank E Griffeth, of Athens, J L Griffeth, of Bogart, and W R Griffeth of Atlanta; and by one daughter, Mrs Robert Thompson of Bogart. A number of grandchildren and several great-granchildren also survive her. She leaves also two sisters, Mrs John M Poole of Winder, and Mrs C B Jackson of Atlanta; and three brothers-in-law, Messrs Frank P Griffeth of Athens, B S Griffeth of Bogart and J M R Smith of Monroe. She was a loyal member of Bethabara Baptist church for more than sixty years. She had been a resident of Athens for sixteen years, moving here from Oconee county.
The funeral will be conducted by Rev T E McCutcheon from Bethabara Baptist church, Oconee county, tomorrow moring at 11 o'clock, sun time. Autos to covey the entire funeral party and friends will leave the residence here at 10 tomorrow morning, city time. The following will be the active pall-bearers: Messrs J H Grifeth, D F Miller, W T Forbes, Geo H Williamson, J Carlton Jester, and W W Scott. The following will act as honorary escort: Messrs M Stern, D G Bickers, Geo H Palmer, F P Griffeth, W H Kytle, M J Abney, Aaron Cohen, Jas H Dozier, J F Tibbetts, and J H Patman.
