Cynthia A. Abbott, of Park Avenue, Homer, passed away on December 25, 2017 in the Cortland Regional Medical Center at the age of 70.

She was born June 17, 1947 in Cortland, a daughter of the late Francis A. ‘Frank’ and Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Hoar Bosworth.

Cindy lived in Homer much of her life, where she was self-employed as a daycare provider. She also lived in Tennessee for more than 20 years, relocating back to Homer in 2014 to be closer to her family.

Cindy loved music; dancing or playing and singing with her Q Chord Guitar. She enjoyed playing cards and especially spending time her dog, Roscoe and her granddaughter, Emily.

Surviving are her two sons, David (Carrie) Sipe of Homer and Michael Sipe of Binghamton; her loving granddaughter, Emily Sipe; her step-mother, Connie Bosworth; three sisters, Linda Spencer; Susan (David) Bosworth-Quinlan and Sandra Anderson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter G. Abbott.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday December 29, 2017 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Haines officiating.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral.
