Tony R. Reed, 68, of Union, passed away suddenly, Friday, July 31, 2020 at his home.
On November 13, 1951, Tony was born to the union of Elmer Reed and Ruby (Allen) in Van Buren, Arkansas.
Tony was united in marriage to Kim (Park) on October 12, 1973 in Van Buren, Arkansas.
He was a devoted member of the First Evangelical Free Church of Villa Ridge. Tony was also the Co-Founder of the Franklin County Poetry Club.
Tony volunteered at the Good News Club at Coleman Elementary which is a branch of the Child Evangelism Fellowship.
He was a devout Christian and loved to share the word of God with anyone. Tony was a friendly person who enjoyed meeting new people. He served his church not only as a member but as a greeter and participated in bible study. Tony had a passion for astronomy, owning one of the largest telescopes in the county. He also wrote his own poetry that he loved to share. Tony was helpful as well as a handy man. Most of all Tony loved God and his family.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ruby Reed and one brother, Danny Reed.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kim Reed of Union; one son, Joshua Reed and wife Amy of Grover; two daughters, Jennifer Stuart and husband Paul of Gardner, Kansas and Rebecca McCabe and husband Ryan of St. Charles; three brothers, Elmer Reed Jr. and wife Brenda, William Reed and James Reed all of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sisters, Pat Christian of Arkansas and Joyce Reed of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Sydney, Selah, Logan, Noelle, Kira, Zoe, Jack, Micah and Caleb; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
