Mrs. June Yates Welch, age 92 and longtime Hampton resident, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020, loving wife of 57 years to Melvin Spencer Welch. She was born in Dekalb Co. to the late John and Mary Yates. June is survived by her children: Carol Welch of Hampton, Melvin Welch of Florida, and Kenny Welch of Columbus; grandchildren: Mike (Diane) Dozier, Allison (Kevin) Oliver, Dustin Welch, Brandon (Andi) Welch, and Matthew (Marion) Welch; beloved great grandchildren: Brittany, Montana, Noah, Myles, Tyler, Kaylee, and Ashley; siblings; Mary Ellen Ambrose, and Tommy Yates; many nieces and nephews; and fur baby: Dixie. She was predeceased by her brothers: Buster Yates, Jim Yates, George Yates, and Billy Yates. The family will receive friends for a viewing at the home of Mrs. June Welch on, 1511 Old Hwy 3 North, Hampton, GA 30228 on Saturday, August 1, 2020 beginning at 2:00PM and continuing until 2:00PM on Sunday, August 2, 2020. A graveside service will be held at Berea Cemetery on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 3:00PM with Pastor Keith Archibald officiating.
