Eldon L. Ford, 84, of Tipton, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017, in Cedar Rapids.


Eldon has been cremated. There will be no visitation or funeral services held. Iowa Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of the arrangements.


Private family graveside services with burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, Iowa, with full Military Honors conducted by the Tipton American Legion Post #2537.


Eldon Lee Ford was born August 15, 1933, in Cedar County, the son of James and Dorothy (Horn) Ford. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1951. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Norma Jean Wiebel on August 15, 1953, in Tipton. He was a veteran of the Korean War.


Surviving are his wife, Norma; two daughters, Ruth Ford of Waco, TX, and Teressa (Abelino) Ramirez of Rock Island, IL; four sons, Lonnie (Mary) Ford of Atalissa, Randy (Robin) Ford and Scott Ford, both of Rochester and Shane Ford of Tipton; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandfather; two sisters, Donna (Lowell) Salyars of Rochester and Rhonda (Jim) Driscoll of Wilton; and three brothers, Herbert Ford, Leo (Sharon) Ford and Douglas (Cathy) Ford, all of Rochester.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Connie Sue Ford and one brother, Wayne Ford.
