Lester "Bernard" Jenkins was born February 27, 1953, in Jacksonville, Florida to Mattie and Clyde Jenkins, Sr. They preceded him in death. On August 21, 2018, at Haven Hospice Care Center, Lake City, Florida, he answered the call to go into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior. He was educated in the Columbia County School System. Bernard was united in wedlock to Jackie Portee Jenkins, who also precedes him in death. He was employed with Shands Lake Shore Hospital as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist, Baker Correctional Institution as a Correctional Officer, Northeast Florida State Hospital, and Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida. Several other family members precede him in death, including an aunt, Inez Hamilton.
