Mary Katherine “Red” Givens, 70, of Braggs, Oklahoma went to her Heavenly home on Friday, July 31, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born on July 3, 1950 to Herbert Clarence Jaynes and Katherine Neoma (Prichard) Jaynes in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Mary graduated from Braggs High School with the Class of 1968.

She married the love of her life, George Stanley Givens, on April 18, 1967 at Braggs Pentecostal Holiness Church. They shared over 53 years of a happy life, marriage and many memories.
Mary was a member of Braggs Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years and enjoyed singing and sign language with her daughter as well as being the children’s youth minister clown “Patches”. She loved the Lord and her walk with Him was very dear to her. Mary love spending time with her family and friends when she wasn’t baking her famous German Chocolate Cake. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Katherine Jaynes; brother, Jimmy Jaynes; and sister, Helen McElhaney.

She is survived by her husband, George Givens of the home; daughter, Lisa Russell and husband Jud of Broken Arrow, OK; son, James Givens and wife Tonya of Braggs, OK; grandchildren, Dalton McGehee, Hayden Russell, Austin Givens and Katelynn Givens; brother, Frank Jaynes of Braggs, OK; sisters, Pam Chandler and husband Jerry of Braggs, OK and Barbara Harris of Porum, OK; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, loved ones and friends.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be 3:30PM, Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at South Bethel Cemetery with Rev. Jack Carner officiating. Interment will follow with Jeff Ray McElhaney, Shane Chandler, L.D. McElhaney, Donnie Chandler, Dillon Freeland and Ethan McElhaney serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dusty Harris, Wesley Mackey, Stephen Clark and Cody Mackey.
