Francis H. Cabot Dead In New York

New York, Dec. 20 - Francis Higginson Cabot, a leading figure in the textile trade in New York, died today at his home, 37 East 85th st., after a long illness.

A native of Brattleboro, Vt., the son of Francis Cabot of Brookline, Mass., and Louisa Higginson Cabot, he was educated in the Boston schools and entered Harvard with the class of 1881. Illness forced him to leave college and he turned to the textile business in which his family long had been interested.

He came to New York in 1879 as a commission merchant to handle sales for the mills of which his father was treasurer. He organized F. H. Cabot & Co., of which he was head for many years until his retirement about 13 years ago.

Mr. Cabot was married on Staten Island, April 5, 1893, to Maud Bonner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Bonner of New York and Quebec. He leaves his wife and four children, Francis Higginson Cabot Jr. of North Post Office, Va.; George B. Cabot of Brookline, Mass.; Quincy S. Cabot of Whitehouse, N.J.; and Mrs. Patrick H. Morgan of New York. There are also seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Georges chapel.
