Mrs. Kathy May Caldwell Brown, 64 of Blackshear, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Memorial Satilla Health.

Born in Palmer, TN on March 19, 1956, she had lived in Sister Lakes, Michigan prior to moving to Pierce County in 2004. Mrs. Brown was a housewife, mama, and proud grandmother. She took care of grandchildren and did anything they wanted her to whether it was cooking something special that they wanted, playing with Barbie dolls or games, or anything else that their hearts desired. The word “no” was not in her vocabulary when it came to them. Mrs. Brown enjoyed doing puzzles and while living in Michigan she had enjoyed the seasonal gardens. She was a member of Bridge Community Church.

She was a daughter of the Lester Lee & Frankie Jane Smith Caldwell. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Wendy; and by five brothers, Bradford, Lee, Roy, Dean, and Randy.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Sam E. Brown of Blackshear; three daughters, Edna Brown of Holland, MI, Angela Brown of Bangor, MI, and Jennifer (Jose) Reyes of Blackshear; a son, Samuel “Sammy” Brown, Jr. of Bangor, MI; two sisters, Rachel (Ernest “Shag”) Self and Brenda Self all of Blackshear; three brothers, Bill (Glenda) Caldwell of Allegan, MI, Larry Caldwell of Tennessee, and Johnny Caldwell of Alabama; 13 grandchildren, Josh, James, Justin, Juan Jr., Jason, Wendy, Maria, Samuel, Nicholas, Tony, Kristina, Jose, and Mariah; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will have a celebration of life service for Mrs. Brown at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer & Jose Reyes, at 7489 Blue Lake Circle, Blackshear, GA 31516, on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 2:00 o’clock.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

Due to COVID-19, social distancing and other state guidelines will be practiced while at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Reyes.
