Danny Joe Hicks age 62, of Jewell Ridge, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio, 30 October 1957, and was the son of the late William Howard Hicks and Ethel Adams Hicks. He was a truck driver, for several coal mines and gas companies. Danny enjoyed fishing, dry land fishing and searching for ginseng. He loved gospel bluegrass and listening to the Christian radio. He was a long time resident and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Sutherland.

The funeral service for Danny Joe Hicks will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Billy Ward officiating. Interment will follow at the Day family cemetery in Bearwallow, Virginia. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. The family will begin to receive friends at 12:00 pm on Monday.
