Services for Wayne Earl Rutledge, 53, of Elkhart, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home with the Revs. Perry Jones and Jerry Keene officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart.
Mr. Rutledge died Tuesday at St. Lukes Episcopal Hospital in Houston.
He was born in Elkhart on Oct. 12, 1943, to Lenard and Ivie Rutledge.
Mr. Rutledge attended Elkhart High School. He was self-employed welder for 18 years and had worked for Brown & Root, Inc., in Houston for many years. He was a member of Elkhart Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father, and brothers, Eddie Rutledge and Harry K. Rutledge.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Rutledge of Elkhart; mother, of Elkhart; sons, Shane Rutledge and Steven Rutledge, both of Elkhart; daughter, Donna Rutledge of Galveston; brothers, Carl Rutledge of Houston and Rickie Rutledge of Elkhart; and sisters, Bessi Rutledge and Shelley Kelly, both of Elkhart.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Taylor, Roy Smith, Gary Johnston, Loren Thompson, Kimble Tice and Glenn Ray. Honorary pallbearers with be Angela Rogers, Brandy Statham, Dr. James Pat Herilhy and the Vulcraft Company.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
