Joel Wallace Hawkins, 80, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Wallace Hampton Hawkins and Reba Hood Hawkins. Joel was retired machinist having worked at various manufacturing companies and also owning his own machining business. He was a former Shriner and Mason and was of the Baptist faith.

Joel is survived by his wife of 58 years, Evelyn Chastain Hawkins; son: Ricky Wallace Hawkins and wife Laurie of Marietta; 2 daughters: Becky Westmoreland and husband Michael of Marietta, Tammy Heater and husband Kenny of Beaufort, SC; sister: Joy Walker and husband George of Dacusville, SC; 6 grandchildren: Elijah Wallace Hawkins, Kayla Ann Burnett and husband Daniel, Nicholas Heater, Aly Heater, Jodi Poteet and husband Matthew and Blake Westmoreland; 5 great-grandchildren: Nelly Burnett, Lilly Burnett, Spencer Burnett, Waylon Poteet and Joellyn Poteet.

Along with his parents, Joel was predeceased by 2 brothers: Michael Hawkins and Patrick Hawkins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
