Kathleen Lott Roberson

Mrs. Kathleen Roberson, 87, of Blackshear died late Monday night at Bayview Nursing Home in Nahunta after an extended illness. She was born in Blackshear to the late Charlie Lott and Kate Youmans Lott.

She was a charter member of Youmans Chapel Baptist Church.

Everyone knew Mrs. Youmans as granny. She devoted her time to being a housewife who loved to cook, quilt, and care for children. Her husband, Mr. Thomas C. Roberson, served in the United States Army for 32 years. Mrs. Roberson was very proud to call herself an Army wife. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Louise Sapp, Jewell White, Ivalee Nobles, Charlie Lott, Joe Lott and Stacy Lott.

Mrs. Roberson is survived by her daughter, Dixie Woods Youmans and her husband David of Blackshear, three grandchildren, Corbett Woods, Jr., and his wife Hope of Blackshear, Katie Kathleen Hernandez of Blackshear, David Woods and his wife Phyllis of Screven, seven great grandchildren, Raymond "Rusty" Lee, III and his wife Stacey of Blackshear, Corbett Woods III, Chase Woods, Starr Woods, all of Blackshear, James Dennard and his wife Tiffany of Screven, Christopher Dennard of Denela, Florida, Steven Woods, Jr., of Screven, two great great grandchildren, Ashlee Marie Hunt of Blackshear, Dixie Leigh Ann Ard of Waycross and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A private graveside service was held Thursday morning in Waters Cemetery with the Rev. Edward Colley officiating.
