Dale Michael Bryant, 78, of Havana, passed away at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Clayberg Fulton County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cuba.

He was born December 13, 1941 in Havana to Donald F. and Ruth (Lippert) Bryant. His parents preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Bailie Bryant and siblings, Marlene Brown, Bill Bryant, Margaret Johnson, Lynn Smith and Robert Bryant.

Surviving are two sons, Mike (Missy) Bryant of Havana and Bob (Dawn) Bryant of Fairview; five grandchildren, Dalton Bryant, Savannah Bryant, Jeni (Kohl) Young, Lakyn Rives and Emilee Rives; and his siblings, Donald W. (Nina) Bryant, Eloise (the late Jerald) Richardson, Chris (Chuck) Alderson, Steve Bryant, David Bryant, DeeDee (James) Reynolds, all of Havana, Jim Bryant of Carlsbad, California, Mary (Larry) Griffith of Metamora, Cathy (Jim) Hazelwood of DeLand, Florida and Jenny Trimpe of Chillicothe and many nieces and nephews.

A United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, Dale served from January 3, 1962 to May 7, 1966, last aboard the USS Coral Sea.

Dale worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 25 years and retired from the Mapleton Foundry in 1994. He also had owned and operated DB Painting in Havana.

He was an avid gardener and loved animals, especially dogs. He also liked to tinker with small engines, but was unsuccessful fixing those most of the time.

His celebration of life gathering will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6408 in Havana. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
