ENGLEWOOD, N. J., Sept. 16 — Maria Ruth Gellhorn, daughter of Dr. Alfred Gellhorn, professor of medicine at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Mrs. Olga Frederick Gellhorn, died today at her home.

Miss Gellhorn attended the Frances Holland School in London and studied painting in London at the studio of William R. Thomson.

Four sisters, Mrs. Christina Oberbeck, and the Misses Martha, Anne and Edna Gellhorn, also survive. She was a niece of Martha Gellhorn, the writer, and of George Frederick, president of the Loft Candy Company.
