James Andrew McIntire

James Andrew McIntire, 77, of Bloomington, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was born on July 1, 1942 in Pennsylvania; the son of William Andrew and Anna (Cannon) McIntire.

Jim retired after over 30 years from General Electric where he held positions in several different areas. He went on to work for Indiana University in the custodial department. Jim was an avid car fan. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, attending car shows, and muscle cars. He was the conversationalist amongst his family and friends and enjoyed his yardwork along with watching the news and Western movies.

Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce McIntire; children, Jerry (Kristina) McIntire of Bloomington, Judy (Tracy) Koontz of Solsberry, and Janna McIntire of Bedford; step-children, Debbie Starks, Ramona (Al) Shields, and Brian Willoughby; ten grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; niece, Heather Hearth; and two great-nieces. He is also survived by his siblings, John Phillippi and JoAnn Phillippi Hash.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Joe Phillippi; and son, James R. McIntire.

A private funeral service will be held at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington.
