Anthony, who was called “Andy” by most, Dad and Grandpa by others. He was born to the late Arthur Lee Young and Betty Jean Young. His grandparents, Bro. Eddie and Mother Willie Mae Johnson, reared Andy. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended church with them. Later in life, he joined Greater Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
With an easy demeanor and smile, this Hamilton County High School Class of 1980 graduate was lots of fun. He liked to joke around because it meant he would make others smile. After graduation, Andy enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. After his service to the country, he settled in Valdosta, Georgia before returning to Jasper where he would remain.
Andy was currently employed by Southern Act Freightliner Trucking Company in Albany, GA. He was known to have a big smile that would light up any room he entered. That smile warmed many hearts and began many friendships.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Arthur, Jr., sister-Sharon Young; devoted cousin/sister-Rhonda Henderson.
