Nancy I. Butler, 83 of Huntington passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center. Nancy had worked at HK Porter making brake pads from 1966-1975, she also worked at the Rectory at St. Mary Catholic Church for several years. She enjoyed baking and baked for many years making birthday and wedding cakes.

She was born on April 19, 1937 in Huntington, the daughter of the late Burl A. and Dorothy I. (Griffith) Covey.

She was united in marriage to Richard H. Butler on July 24, 1971 in Huntington. Richard preceded her in death on August 5, 2010.

Additional survivors include two sons: Jim (Sandy) Bradley of Huntington; Gary (Wilma) Bradley of Ossian; two daughters: Karmen (Don) Lahr of Huntington; Sheila Christen of Huntington; a brother: Thomas F. Covey of Huntington; a sister: Barbara Fay Smith of Huntington; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Burl D. "Jim" Covey.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. We will be following the CDC’s guidelines for Social Distancing and Social Gathering Limits.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Matt Snodderly officiating.

Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
