John Charles "Chuck" Christian, 68, of Don Morgan Drive, Princeton, went home to his Heavenly Father on July 26, 2020. Born September 30, 1951, in Bluefield WV, he was the son of the late John Richard and Phyllis Louise Richardson Christian. John was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He held steadfast to his faith in the Lord and was a member of the Maple View Church of Christ. John worked for 30 years in the Supply House for Consol Coal Company/Buchanan Mines.  He was currently employed by Mercer County Board of Education in the Maintenance Dept. as an electrician. John was a graduate of Bluefield High School Class of 1969. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. John was a member of the Princeton Elks Lodge #1459 where he held the position of Exalted Ruler from 1990-1991. He was also recognized as Service Person of the Year for Mercer County Board of Education in 2016. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time, but most of all, spending time with his family. John never met a stranger and was always willing to go the extra mile to help someone in need. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Justin Barker. Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Vickie; Two loving daughters, Lori Sharpe and husband Michael,  Melanie Sarver and husband Aaron; Three loving grandchildren, Elijah Webb Sarver, Brody Michael Sharpe and Hannah Leigh Sarver; Three loving sisters, Jo Ann Ayers, Marie Barker and husband Carl, Iris Kroll and husband David; One loving brother, Phillip Christian and wife Sherria; and a host of of nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services to celebrate the life of John Charles "Chuck" Christian will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the Maple View Church of Christ in Bluefield, WV with Buddy Goins officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites provided by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Michael Sharpe, Aaron Sarver, Paul Driscoll Jr., Lee Lewis, Jimmy Akers, and Tommy Tabor. Honorary pallbearers will be John's grandsons. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 P.M. until the service hour at the church.
