Thomas Joe Manning, 80, Indianapolis, passed away July 14, 2020 at Franciscan Health-South. Thomas was born February 9, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana to George Edward and Mary (Ratliff) Manning.

Thomas attended Perry Township schools and for many years was a self-employed carpenter. In his earlier years, he had also worked as a gasoline tanker driver and a bulldozer operator. A lover of music, he was a self-taught musician and played the guitar, piano, banjo, steel guitar and bass guitar. He was a member of the Country Dreamers Band and had played in several venues around the area.

Thomas is survived by his children, Philip (Amy) Manning, Jacki (Chris) Dennis, Carl (Julie) Manning, Dawn (Rick) Manning and Scott (Tina) Manning; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Chuck Manning, Dan Manning, John Manning and Dot Francis as well as his daughters-in-law, Vicky Manning and Dawn Manning. In addition to his parents, he preceded in passing by his first wife, Peggy J. (Conner) Manning; his second wife, Kay Manning; his children, Kenny Manning, Casey Manning; a step-grandson, Mikey Johnson; his siblings, Norma Kelly, Don Manning, Jim Manning, Deb Bowling, Rick Manning, Linda Arvin and Bill Manning.

There will be no formal services at this time. Norman F. Chance Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
