Susan "Sue" Lovell passed away October 7, 2018 after a brief battle with pneumonia that culminated recent years of serious health challenges. Sue will be remembered most for her love of adventure, great sense of humor, and contagious, hearty laugh. Born and raised in the Detroit area, Sue was a devoted daughter and determined in her role as big sister; both protective and challenging. Her nieces share joyful memories from her visits to Michigan while they were growing up: laughter, manicures, big hugs, and her signature fragrance, Tresor. Adolescent escapades were shared with a neighborhood cohort, the 4 Sues. While later memories of boundless dancing with dear friends to a favorite of Prince, "Let's Get Crazy", are added testimony to Sue's vibrant personality and fighting spirit during the greater part of her life. Sue was a pioneer and one of the first women to hold senior positions in data processing in the financial services industry. She was a part of the team that implemented the first network of airport ATMs for the country's largest New York bank at the time. Sue later joined Core Group, a Minneapolis firm, where she was Vice President of Data Processing and MIS and a key part of the team that designed and implemented the earliest marketing programs that are ubiquitous today, such as frequent flyer, credit card and retail loyalty programs. Sue was a mentor to young professional women throughout her career. Later years in her chosen home state of Minnesota brought an opportunity to expand her compassion for others as a loving companion of the elderly. Sue was preceded in death by her longtime partner, Bruce Jones, a proud army veteran and native Minnesotan. Together, they enjoyed many years of laughter and adventure, including with Bruce's children and grandchildren. In addition to her human friends and family, Sue had many feline companions over the years, and she loved them all dearly. Sue is also preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Ann Nagel. She is survived by her sister, Sandra Nagel (Paul) Whitworth, nieces Kirstin (Sarah) Leiby, and Jenna Leiby, and their children Soliana and Cameron, as well as by the family she shared with Bruce, including Doug Jones (Sarah), Sean (Janine), Mat (Elyse), Tim (Barbara), Katie (Borys), Kevin, Rebecca, Nathan, Noah, Anika, Ty, Reilly, Eli, Kaily, George, Joseph, and Lucy. She will also be missed by dear cousins and friends.
