Helen Marie Chambers, age 96, of Biggsville, IL., passed away at 7:57 a.m., on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, IL. She was born on May 28, 1924 on the farm south of Biggsville, IL., the daughter of Floyd and Helen Leona South Johnson.
Helen married Donald C. Chambers on September 27, 1941 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1994.
She is survived by her sisters, Loris Blackburn of San Angelo, TX., and Alleyne Kress of Denver, CO; two brothers, Edwin Johnson and Clifford Johnson, both of Biggsville; one grandchild, Janeen Chambers and Carl of Oquawka, IL; two great grandchildren, Kelly Meredith and John of Gladstone, IL., and Michael Hurka and Felicia of Burlington, IA; and four great-great grandsons, Alex, Austin, Kaden, and Jackson.
Helen is preceded in her death by her parents, husband Donald, her son "Jack" and daughter in law Becky, and four brothers, Walter, Gerald, Everett, and Earl.

Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of her care locally. As per her wishes, no visitation or funeral service is currently being planned by her family. Cremation is to be accorded. Interment of her ashes will be in the Biggsville Township Cemetery at a later date.
