SWAMPSCOTT — Lindsey, Sandra “Sandy” Lee (Reynell), of Swampscott, died peacefully on July 24, 2020 at the age of 77.

Sandy was born on Oct. 3, 1942 to the late Albert and Louise Reynell of Long Island, N.Y. She was the beloved wife of her loving husband Alexander of 58 years and adoring mother of son Jeffrey Lindsey and his wife Alyson, and son Matthew Lindsey. Sandy was affectionately known as “Nana” to six grandchildren, Hypatia, Grace, Alessandro, Caterina, Sloane and Blake. She was also the loving sister of Richard Reynell and Marjorie Ruggeri.

Sandy will be remembered for her active involvement in the communities in which she lived including Fredericksburg, Va., and Long Island, N.Y. She was the past president of the League of Women Voters and the Junior Womens Club. Sandy was an active player of bridge at the Swampscott Senior Center. Sandy enjoyed great friendships and had the pleasure of being part of a very successful Investment Club that vacationed once a year together. She also loved to travel with her husband and visited locales across Europe and the Caribbean. In her youth, Sandy loved to sail, play the clarinet and was an all star field hockey player.

Above all else, Sandy will be remembered for her generous spirit and the great love she had for her family. Her happiest times were spent being a mother and grandmother, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in her honor can be made to the Swampscott Senior Center or the American Heart Association.
