Jackie “Jack” Myron Snyder, age 80, of Raymond, passed away July 26, 2020 at his home. He was born in Armington Illinois on April 14, 1940, the son of George Myron Maxine Turner Snyder.

He married Mary Louise Bruntjen Snyder on June 25 1961 in Harvel Illinois. Jack was a lifelong farmer on the family farm south of Raymond where they raised their family.

Jack was a grain and livestock farmer, for over 60 years, working along side his dad, his brothers and sons well into his 70’s. He loved being around his large family. At family gatherings, you could usually find him at the head of a pinochle table, throwing a baseball around with his grandkids, or catching a game on TV. Jack was an avid sports fan. In his younger years, quite the baseball and basketball player, as well as a good bowler. Later in life he was the biggest supporter of all of his kids and grandkids, rarely missing a game. Beyond that, Jack's love for St. Louis Cardinal baseball and Fighting Illini basketball ran deep. In the spring you could often find him hunting morel mushrooms somewhere on his land, a hobby that he passed on to future generations. Jack leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and love of family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children; Curtis “Curt” wife Sheila Snyder of Alton, Kendall wife Laura Snyder of Raymond Marla husband Ty Herman of Raymond, Brandon wife Donna Snyder of Springfield. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren Jayme husband Nick Foor, Andrew wife Stephanie Snyder, Cory Snyder, Kyle wife Hannah Snyder, Lukas wife Danielle Leonard, Jacob Leonard, Cameron wife Emily Snyder, Tate fiancée Lauren Pitchford Snyder, Reese Snyder, Sydney Herman, Samuel Herman, Faith Snyder, Jessica Snyder, Jonah Snyder, Shaniah Snyder Caden Snyder and seven great grandchildren. Three brothers also survive him; Tom “Dean” wife Norma Snyder of Springfield, Larry “Bud” wife Linda Snyder of Raymond, Randall “Randy” wife Christa Snyder of Raymond.

Memorials in Jack’s name may be given to The Benevolent fund at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, T.E.A.M. (Support for Panhandle School Sports) or the Raymond Park District.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Aug 15th at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church near Raymond. Pastor Dave Ziegenbein will officiate. The family will greet friends and family from 10:00am until the time of the service.
