DANESE--Mrs. Nellie Kincaid Smith, 95, died at 4:30 a. m. Sunday, March 8, at home, following a long illness.
Born Oct. 30, 1896, in Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Estaline Vance Kincaid.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker, member of the New Salem Baptist Church at Abraham, and had been a resident of Danese since 1939.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O. E. Smith; three sons, James, Charles, and Harley Sherman Smith and a daughter, Thelma Mae Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Oley Arnold Smith and his wife Margie of Grafton and George Donald Smith and his wife Clella of Danese; three daughters, Mabel Morris of Point Pleasant, (Tink) Ruth Kincaid of Danese, , and Katie Smith of Crab Orchard; three sisters, Ocie Bennett of Shady Spring, Thelma Wilburn of Kilsyth, and Jocie Kincaid of Beckley; a niece Velma Hudkins of Charleston, whom she reared; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 1 p. m. Tuesday at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with the Rev. Daniel Legg officiating. Burial will follow in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery at Abraham.
Friends may call today from 5 p. m. to 9 p. m. at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
