Jimmy Wayne Spain, 70, of Henderson, NC died Thursday, July 23, 2020, at his home.
Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Bennie “Jim” Howard Spain and Hazel Abbott Spain.
Mr. Spain was a member of North Henderson Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon, Usher, and Greeter. He was currently a member of the David Stokes Sunday School Class. He was also currently a member of the Kerr Lake Car Club, and a former member of the Henderson Civilian Club. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Surviving are his wife of forty-one years, Sylvia Faulkner Ross Spain; two sons, Jimmy Spain Jr., and Marc Ross (Jackie); one sister, Evelyn S. Chappel (Phil); five granddaughters, Allican Spain, Mackenzie Spain, Alyssa R. Tucker (Nick), Camden E. Ross and Maecy Ross. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Bettie Spain Rice.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
The family will receive friends at his home.
Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to North Henderson Baptist Church, 1211 N. Garnett St. Henderson, NC 27536, for the Elevator Fund.
Serving as pallbearers are Ben Heath, Dick Twisdale, Larry Brame, Gary Abbott, Wade Edwards, Daniel Choplin, Brian Choplin, Steve Kennedy, Cran Wilson, William Bullock and Brent Kasey.
