Donald S. W. Goodwin, 71, of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Union Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 3, 1948, in Terre Haute to Donald and Madonna (Carrigg) Goodwin.
He married Marsha Wilson on December 4, 1971.
Donald is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marsha Goodwin of Terre Haute; his son, Donnie Goodwin and wife Darla of Brazil; granddaughter, Addie Goodwin of Brazil; brother, David Goodwin and wife Debbie of Vigo County; sister-in-law, Teresa Goodwin; several nieces, nephews, many good friends, and last, but not least, his best friend and furry companion, Holly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steve Goodwin.
Don graduated in 1966 from Wiley High School. He worked for several years at Commercial Solvents before making a career switch to PSI/Duke Energy performing maintenance at substations. He retired in 2004. His favorite thing to do was to look after his granddaughter, Addie. Once she was born, he devoted his life to being a proud grandpa, she is his pride and joy. Don also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his quick wit and a great sense of humor.
In accordance with his wishes, Don chose “Direct Deposit” with no fuss and only his family in attendance. He will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
