Byron E. (Barney or Sparky) Arnold-90, born March 26, 1917 at 529 N. Tibbs Ave, passed away September 5, 2007 . He lived on the west side of Indianapolis, Speedway, the east side and in later years, North Salem. He graduated from Public School #67 and George Washington High School in 1936.

He worked at the Indianapolis Star as a route carrier, Country Club of Indianapolis as a caddie, Link Belt & Supply as a salesman, Standard Die as a salesman, and Central Supply & Indianapolis Belting & Supply as a co-owner. He was a member of the Evergreen Oriental Lodge #500 F & AM and the Methodist Church. He refereed High School Basketball for 20+ years and owned Barney's Table Tennis Club at Alabama & New Jersey and a member of the Indiana Table Tennis Hall of Fame. He was a Deputy Commissioner of the Pan-Am Games, a Commissioner of the US Transplant Games, a semi-pro basketball player, & an AAU All American. He was the son of Ora & Elizabeth Applegate Arnold. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rather Arnold, sisters, Juanita & Margaret and brothers, Don & Ora Jr.

He is survived by sister Jeanette Arnold. He is the father of Diana (Tom) Eller, the grandfather of Brad (Gayle) Eller, Jody (Gregg) Hall and Betsy Eller, and the great-grandfather of Felisha, Kaiti, Phillip Giles, Casey & Chris Eller, Andrew Eller and Samantha Tuggle.

Services were entrusted to Robert Porter Funeral Home of North Salem, Indiana.
