Young People Wed

On Thursday, May 31st, Mrs. Clara Lyght and Mr. Walter Humes, two well known young people of Sawyer, were married in Minot by Judge Murray. Immediately following the ceremony they returned to Sawyer and will take up housekeeping in rooms over Mr. Humes' shoe shop. The bride prior to her first marriage was Miss Clara Thompson, daughter of Mrs. Ira Thompson, and has lived in this community for many years. Mr. Humes is running a shoe repair and tire shop in that village, going there from this city where he was employed by R. J. Latimer for a time. Mr. and Mrs. Humes are receiving the congratulations of their friends.

HUMES, Walter Eugene - Age 80, July 9, 1973, Vancouver, Washington. Born, November 17, 1892, Alexandria, Minnesota. Lived at 8608 NE 20th St., Vancouver, Wash, resident 32 years. Retired millworker, Fort Vancouver Plywood.

Sons, Walter J.; Leo; Leon and Leslie Humes, all of Vancouver, Wash.; Glen Humes of Mill City, Oregon. Daughter, Mrs. Betty Krauss of Olympia, Washington. There are 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Brother, Leonard Humes of Coos Bay, Oregon. Sister, Mrs. Grace Davis, of Shelvin, Minnesota. Veteran of WWI.

Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11th, at The Vancouver Funeral Chapel. The Reverend George Franklin will officiate.

Vault interment, Park Hill Cemetery.
