Clyde, Texas - Glenn Howard Crosby, 81 of Clyde, died Monday at an Abilene care center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Clyde with Dr. Toby Henson officiating. Burial will follow in the Clyde Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Glenn was born November 7, 1925, in Valera, Coleman County, Texas, to Howard Thomas and Nora (Sanders) Crosby. He was a graduate of Coleman High School, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Business at Hardin Simmons University, graduating in 1954. Glenn was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater. He married Doris June Gilbreath in Abilene on December 16, 1957. They moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1964. Glenn worked at Cobb Lumber Company, Southwest Lumber Company and Penrose Lumber Company. He worked as a House Inspector for the City of Abilene, retiring in 1991. Glenn was a member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Doris June Crosby of Clyde; one son, Larry Crosby and wife Debra of Dallas; two daughters, Pam Nestman and husband Nye of Dallas and Brenda Cauthen of Baird; one sister, Alma Wright of Lovington, NM and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
