Mr. Scott was born July 26, 1956 in Cook County, IL., son of the late Emmett Elree & Ruth LaVeine Agnew Scott and was husband of 21 years to Carolyn Scott who survives. He was retired from Kroger after 17 years of service and Dollar General after 4 years of service and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Aaron Mark Scott of Rochester, NY, two daughters, Kelly Scott Bailey & husband, Bryan of Seffner, FL, Meghan Wright & husband, Charles of Westchester, PA, four grandchildren, Aiden Bailey, Parker Bailey, Dante Wright, Quinn Wright, sister, Bonnie Scott Mullens & husband, Howard of Durham, NC, brother, James William Scott & wife, Donna of Houston, TX, niece, Kimberly Mullens Brooks & husband, Sterling of Timberlake, NC, two nephews, Donn Scott and Stuart Scott.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Scott is preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Scott and Robert Scott.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the Nelson Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Friday, July 24, 2020 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Sterling Brooks, Michael Knight, Bobby Overbey, Daniel Overbey, Roger Overby, and Bruce Whitfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Building Fund, 1655 Mt. Harmony Church Road, Rougemont, NC 27572 or to Nelson Baptist Church, 1837 Nelson Church Road, Nelson, VA 24580.
