OBITUARY
Kimberly Joyce Goodwin
NOVEMBER 6, 1965 – DECEMBER 2, 2019

In Loving Memory of Kimberly Joyce Goodwin
Kimberly was born November 6, 1965, in Providence Hospital, Seattle, Washington to Lee Roy and Julia Mae Goodwin, both deceased. Kimberly transitioned to her heavenly home on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 9:45 p.m., at Swedish Hospital, First Hill, Seattle, Washington.

Kimberly lived and grew up in a loving home with her parents, five brothers and two sisters. She attended schools in the North end of Seattle--Green Lake and Decatur.

Kimberly was a sports fan. She loved watching football and basketball games on television. In her early years she ran track and loved to swim. Kim or Kimmie as she is known to some participated in the Special Olympics here in this area. Kim also loved music and enjoyed family celebrations.

Kimberly, in her early 20's and 30's worked at Seattle Central Community College as a dishwasher, along with her best friend Jennifer Stroy.

As a child, Kimberly attended God's Pentecostal Temple, 16th & E. Fir Street, Seattle. About 15 years ago she became a member of New Covenant Pentecostal Tabernacle, 23rd & MLK, Jr. Way, Tacoma, where Dr. Edna E. Travis was her Pastor. She loved to praise the Lord. Every Sunday, Kim would leave home at 8 a.m travelling by King County Access and transferring to Pierce Transit Shuttle at the Federal Way Transit Center to arrive at New Covenant about 10:30 a.m. to attend the 11 a.m. worship services!

Kimberly resided for 15 years in the adult family home of Nerro Bass. She was so very well taken care of by Nerro and her assistants. She also attended Full Life Adult Day Care Program in Seattle twice a week.

Kimberly was a trooper as her health began to fail over these last few months. Previously, she would always bounce back from her stays in the hospital. This time it was her time to be with the Lord and meet up with Mom and Dad in glory. She fought a good fight, she finished her course. She transitioned very peacefully.

Kimberly leaves many family members to always remember her loving spirit: five brothers--Leroy, Jr., Gregory, Carl, Sr, Stephan, Sr and Marcus; two sisters--Carolyn (Rudolph) Grant and Gail Giles. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.greenwoodmempark.com for the Goodwin family.
