MR. ROOSEVELT GRIFFIN - A native of Calvert, Alabama and a longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama, died Wednesday, December 3, 1986 at a local hospital. Brother Griffin leaves to mourn him a loving wife, Annie L. Griffin; a devoted daughter and son-in-law, Willie Mae (Robert, Jr.) Buck; five brothers, Wilmer Griffin of Mobile, Wesley Griffin, Rev. Willie (Odessa) Griffin both of Calvert, Alabama, Rev. Archie (Amelia) Wilson of New Orleans, Louisiana and Michael (Justine) Wilson of Detroit, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, one devoted, Willie B. Griffin; two grandchildren; a 1st Class Robert (Stacy) Buck, III of Missouri; and Drs. Diane (Richard) Briscoe of Tampa; three great grandchildren, Jill Robert IV and Adrian, many friends and neighbors.
His remains will lie in state at the Truevine Baptist Church, 1350 Pecan Street, Tuesday, December 9, 1986 after 5 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the church Wednesday, December 10, 1986 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Howard Johnson officiating minister. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Mobile, Alabama. Funeral arrangements are by Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, Inc., 201 North Hamilton Street, Mobile, Alabama.
