Joseph A. Beaston, aged 72 years and a veteran of the civil war, died yesterday afternoon at his home, a short distance south of the Galena cemetery. His death was due to old age and followed a brief illness. Mr. Beaston had been a resident of Galena about ten years. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and one son. The funeral arrangements will not be completed until the arrival of one of the daughters from Lead, S. D. The local G. A. R., of which he was a member, will have charge of the funeral.

J. A. Beaston, one of Galena's pioneer citizens passed away Tuesday afternoon at his home at 3:30 o’clock, death being; due to infirmities of old age. Mr. Beaston was 72 years of age. He was a member of the Grand Army of Republic in Galena, and is well and favorably known. He resided south of the Galena cemetery. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and one son. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the family residence with interment in the Galena cemetery.
