Herman A. Heffner
Herman A. Heffner, 78, of 1??? Spruce St., Ashland, died Sunday at 4:15 pm in his home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Lavelle on October 12, 1878. Mr. Heffner was a son of the late Richard and Eliza Heffner. He was a resident of Ashland for 53 years. A retired anthracite miner, he was a member of Zion Reformed Church and Washington Fire Co.
Surviving are his wife, the former Rhoeda Heffner and the following sons and daughters: Theodore and Mrs. Willard Leitzel, both of Ashland; John, Harry, and Richard, at home; Mrs. Walter Kahn, of Gordon; Mrs. Roy Kerner, of Locustdale; Mrs. Francis Koons, of Hatboro; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Albert Rissmiller, of Allentown; Mrs. Thomas Beddow, of Kansas; Mrs. Burd Kaufman, of Chester, and Charles Heffner, of Maryland.
Funeral will be Thursday afternoon from Otto Funeral Home, Ashland. Interment will be in Brock's Cemetery, Ashland. The Rev. Melvin F. Walper, pastor of Zion Reformed Church, will officiate.
